Oana Avasilichioaei was born in Romania, lived for many years in Vancouver BC, and currently makes her home in Montréal. She holds an MA in Literature and Creative Writing from Concordia University. Oana teaches writing part-time at Dawson College in Montréal.
As poet and translator (from Romanian and French to English) she has published in journals across the country, and regularly performs from her work in Canada and abroad. Oana curates and coordinates the Atwater Poetry Project reading series. Oana is a member of the League of Canadian Poets. Her latest books include Occupational Sickness (BuschekBooks, 2006) and Abandon (Wolsak and Wynn, 2005).
